The program was to design an architecture school in Bloomfield, Michigan to be integrated with the program in the Cranbrook Academy of Art. Cranbrook designed by Eero Saarinen strives to proved experience with modern and contemporary art, architecture and design to promote an understanding in relevance and contribution to society. The structure was driven through forming a relationship with Eero's existing design of the campus and landscape, while placing a focus on having the interior be ideal for architecture students in developing and learning from all classes; Freshmen-Senior. It is important for architecture students to not only learn from their professors but to form a studio culture with their peers from all classes which would directly relate to the purpose of Cranbrook's mission as an educational institution.
