St. Anne’s Church has been a landmark of the small Garwood, NJ community since it’s founding over 90 years ago. The Church needed a multi-purpose community room, kitchen, and bathrooms for events and social gatherings. The proposed addition extends into the existing parking lot that fronts on a busy commercial corridor. A new gothic arch gateway, complimentary to the existing church architecture, opens to an rose planted entry court. As a physical metaphor, the addition reaches out to the community beyond turning the existing back of the church into a welcoming entrance.
