The project is located at the convergence of the 10,
5, 60, and 101 freeway interchanges just east of
downtown Los Angeles. Inevitably with any freeway
site comes the existence of residual spaces that
are marginalized because of their difficult access
and undesirable locations. The initial instinct was
to take advantage of the vibrational energy present
on-site from the movement of automobiles, and to
implement a system to utilize these vibrations into
a structure that acts as a gateway and a landmark
into Los Angeles.
