The theme for the film institute on Hill Street is the banding of a
ribbon joined at the street then towering upwards, folding in on
itself and splitting to reveal the theater spaces, offices, and archives
for numerous film artifacts. The tower boasts cracks open
on the top floors to reveal magnificent views of Downtown. An
outdoor patio area on the 5th level in between the three screening
rooms and archives displays provide an area that promotes
the discussion, criticism, study and appreciation of the films in
the city that is integral to the history of motion picture cinema.
