The focus for this studio course was to introduce and explain the different effects that environment could have on the design and efficiency of even the simplest dwelling. this project was to design a modest 400 sq. ft. dwelling located in the foot hills of the Catalina Mountains. the concept for this dwelling was taken from the separation of two enclosed living spaces meeting the 400 sq. ft. requirement and essentially doubling this amount of floor space by creating an indoor/outdoor living area. the outdoor spaces are shaded from the extreme solar heat and humidified by a reflecting pool located in the middle.
