Ciruelos School

It is a project with a strong functional accent. It is structured based on a program with little room for flexibility.
On plant we work on the idea of separating the extremes packages of pre-school and primary, placing the collective activities spaces in the centre playing nexus in between.
In section, we give height to the central part, this help us to spot it presence and bring weight to the two entrances. With this, the frequent monotony flatness of these typologies was avoided.
To work the facades, we divide them in North-South / East-West to develop a different language. Each vain cuts across the full height of the wall. In the direction North/South white brick is interrupted by gray brick and East/West the windows transparency reaches the edge.
Indoor treatment seeks to bare the material not as a brutalism concept but for the novelty that raw materials reveal.
There is NO dark ending corridors. The skylights flood light where the facade does not.
