The New building proposal for the San Antonio Children Museum responds to the existing problems and presents a new concept of a children's Museum. Even though the Museum owns their building, The Museum is looking for a new home, the current facilities are too small and are out of date.
The new Location for the Museum is located at the river north focusing the vibrant tourist district as well as the South-West School of arts and crafts and public library will provide a new and exciting attraction on a regular basis.
The building is a product of the programming process which separates functions by levels. the concept of the project is to expose children to natural elements and create spaces which allow parents to actively participate with children, this was achieved by creating different configurations of out door spaces. These out door spaces houses exhibits that will focus on messy and hands on activities. While, indoor galleries will provide the Museum to reuse their existing exhibits and programs that they have found to be successful.
