The design of the nature center was to combine the landscape and the building together so they would compliment each other. This was accomplished by incorporating sustainable elements such as a green roof. In order to have both of these elements blended into one another effectively, the site had to be regraded. This allowed the ground to cover and define the building without taking away from the interactive park space. A trellis was used to create a transition from a dense space to an open one and to also help shade the spaces.
