STS Barreiro - South Tejo Subway

The project aims to a territorial integration of a degraded area of Barreiro, where it operates the rail line to the South, in the near future in order to allow its use to pass the new tube line on the south bank of the Tejo River.
Given the morphological characteristics of the terrain, was opted for a link building, to make the connection between the lower level and the highest level, allowing the connection of the valley where the railway passes, green space and the area proposed as housing located on higher elevation.
Therefore, the building that houses the underground station is developed into two branches that "grab" the territory. On the one hand merely involve the existing valley, almost like a blade, allowing the passage of the subway in the existing topography. On the other hand there is an arm that cuts the ground and balances it to displaying a space for recreation and socializing. In addition to the great relationship with the outside the building also promotes the visual relationship between floors, through the mezzanine that hosting the vertical access between them.
