The project comes from a private order to build a house located in the neighborhood of Arneiro, São João da Talha, Loures.
Despite its very generous size (1447.40 m2), the terrain is subject to urban restrictions, with very specific urban parameters. The architectural object is underlying to a well defined program created by the client.
The parcel shows no significant topographical features, possessing an almost level topography, which allowed to create links inside / outside with great relevance to the spaces experience.
The project is intended to serve as a permanent residence to a young couple, which focuses on the functionality and breadth of the interior living space, but also in a frank relationship with the outside environment, which presents a quite nice amplitude. Therefore, the proposed piece has a simple and minimal reading, which is exposed to the outside by glazed panels and shade strips that mark the horizontality and the relationship between volumes.
The volume presents a formal and volumetric dynamic, exacerbated by the election of the material and by the different textures and shades, marked by laminar elements that provide shadowing and which allow to control the scale of the elevation plans.
Inside, the vertical access to the upper floor is the protagonist element of the space, defining it as the guiding paths and allowing a frank definition of spaces, which allows the arrival on the top floor to be made in the central part of the space allowing a distribution to both sides, while visual contact with the outside environment is exacerbated.
