Focusing on the diversity within the city of New Orleans, and reflecting on the unity that exists within this broad community, this project aims to bring a harmonious diversity to a cultural centre. Tulane Centre is an extension of Tulane University, located in the center of the 9th Ward, one of the most effected areas from Hurricane Katrina. Tulane Centre provides a variety of studio classes, open gallery space and a rooftop restaurant and bar in an attempt to bring the community together after this catastrophic event. Diversifying the geometry of the building mimics the diversity within the community, and reflecting the strong knit neighborhood establishes continuity and harmony throughout the structure.
