One hundred percent powered by the crisp Colorado sun, The Damiano Residence has set the bar high for sustainable urban living. It has a 6 Kw photovoltaic system, as well as an additional six panels of solar thermal tubes. The hot water, created by the sun, is stored underneath the garage available instantaneously to heat the home through radiant tubes, as well as provide all the hot water. All of the brick is reclaimed, the floors are made from beetle-kill pine and salvaged Douglas Fir from high school bleachers. There is an 1800 sq. ft. green roof providing insulation, as well as access to a private outdoor garden.
