The President of the Canadian subsidiary of a large European real estate group is looking to distinguish himself and do his first big "deal". He choose an abandoned building on the edge of historic Vieux-Montréal just in front of place d’youville and has decided that this will be the building for  the hippest hotel and residence in north of NYC.
IDEAS AND PARTI:
The hotel is a shelter for everyone who’s in Montreal and seeking for a beautiful place to enjoy his vacation. It is featured in the project as a tree that protects itself to survive the hard cold weather in Canada. The idea of shelter is a trial to create inside your building the ambiance that you like whatever the exterior conditions are. It’s a protection from nature. However you cannot live without windows to enjoy the sun or the trees or the landscape.
The Human cannot live without nature but he tries his best to tame it. He takes his ideas from nature, but he builds to protect himself from it.
