Soho Society Library

The concept to the formal composition for this library originates from the open book. The open book is a revelation and showcase of the neighborhood’s culture and community. The purpose for the library is to operate strictly through the open slots of vertical light shafts. The open atrium spaces allows for natural light to flow into the library spaces. By doing so, the library is conditioned to allow for users to inhabit the spaces exclusively during daylight hours. Additionally it also exemplifies early sustainable principles by
means of electric lighting reduction and engery reservation.
