5Th-Year Group Project
Partners: James Fennell, Jessica O'Donnell, Marrina Boontheekul, Sarah King and Tim Read
This is a large-scale project set in downtown seattle adjacent to seattle city hall.
The program, which was developed by seattle city officials, called for the design to relate back to the city hall, as well as create a public gathering space for the populous. The design also needed to focus on sustainable measures to keep costs down.
Our group focused on rain water collection as well as the use of natural ventilation and filtering. The building makes use of one large stack ventilation system through the office floors, and uses natural vegitation as a means to filter the air before it enters the building.
I developed the building in revit 2011, as well as developing a louvre curtain wall panel that automatically arrayed and respaced itself to meet user-set parameters. This louvre system was used over the majority of the building's southern face. The renders were done in artlantis 3.0, people, trees and backdrops were then added in photoshop.
