Cosmo Couture is a design competition held in Washington D.C. in which the proceeds go to My Sisters Place ( A home for abused women and families). The Firms partner with a manufacture and create a fashion garment using only materials from the manufacture that reflect the given theme. "WDG INSPIRATION FOR COSMO COUTURE 2013 WAS DEVELOPED FROM THE ICONIC COLORING OF THE BALD EAGLE. THROUGH A DECONSTRUCTED VIEW OF THE INDIVIDUAL FEATHERS WE HAVE DESIGNED A GARMENT USING BROWN AND WHITE MOTHER OF PEARL TILE. A NATURAL PRODUCT ITSELF, WE WERE ABLE TO PAY HOMAGE TO THE MANY NATURAL VARIATIONS THAT APPEAR IN THE BALD EAGLE’S PALETTE. WITH WHITE TILE AT IT’S CORE AND VARIATIONS OF BROWN WRAPPING THROUGH THE CENTER, THE DRESS EMBODIES THE SINGLE FEATHERS THAT MAKEUP THIS ICONIC AMERICAN BIRD."
