The owner of the firm came up with our initial design concept, the fingers of two hands linking together from opposite sides. We collaborated closely with the client as he was also the contractor and the design
had to fit within his budget. We opted for concrete slabs with minimal extra concrete, using CMU clad in stucco and gyp furred walls for the construction to keep costs reasonable. The well known facade, featured in ELLE Decor and Arts BASEL festival, incorporated the “fingers” of the project hand painted by graffiti artist Anthony Spinello.
