Prompted to design a new Downtown Athletic Club for New York City, this building became a celebration of sound physical and mental health in the form of a modern bath. Occupants are expected to go through each step in the bathing process by moving up and through it. The facade is imagined as a series of movable "gills" that allow the building to breathe fresh air through its side and release heat through an opening at the top.
