Lamplight Museum

The project aims to embody President Roosevelt’s vision of the Four Freedoms for the people. Inspired by the Four Freedom Park, the design features individual volumes, or “rooms”, connected by a vertical thread hole for circulation and an exterior ramp for horizontal connectivity. The overall concept of the museum is reminiscent of floating lanterns, symbolizing hope and the need for guidance. During the day, the lanterns blend seamlessly into the surrounding context, creating a peaceful and unobtrusive presence on the site. At night, the museum comes to life as the lanterns illuminate, creating a mesmerizing spectacle that can be seen from afar.
