Cybioc Morphologies

The Gothic features of redundancy and naturalism inspired this project through the catalyst of artificial intelligence, transforming the Gothic savageness into a collage of AI production flow. These technologies are viewed as partners, willing and able to shift the privilege of tracery and the machine. The gesture of the swirling tracery exists as the DNA of the New Tectonic, metamorphosizing from the precious scale of ornament to structural elements that craft a reading of surface and volume. An interplay of elements attributed to the features of the Gothic form conditions savage in quality. These new organizational and assembly logics generated by the machine, when paired with the Gothic create a relationship of strange associations with shifting edge conditions. The balance between figural and field relationships is shifted into a hybridized integral aesthetic of a New Tectonic interconnection. Different conditions of the New Tectonic are accentuated through this compositional shift. Relinquishing ownership from architecture to the machine, the AI generates a series of sectional variations depicting a novel representation style that straddles realism and drawing. A speculative interior populated with tectonic tracery produces a strange association with abstract wildness, leaving an impression of figural lines through the vision of the machine.
