The project is about the primary school of the F. Confalonieri Comprehensive School, a late nineteenth-century building, in the Isola district of Milan, which currently presents numerous problems, linked to the absence of adequate maintenance and to the denied interactions with the surrounding tissue. The project thus focused on resolving these critical issues through a participated intervention program, which responded to the needs of users of the structure, and multidisciplinary, which could open the boundaries of the school to the neighborhood and give users adequate and comfortable spaces. Another fundamental characteristic is the lightness of the intervention, which must not interfere with the functioning processes of the school organism, which is why the most invasive works have concerned the currently unused environments.
