Much like an architect, a chef manipulates ingredients to shape how a diner interacts with and experiences a meal, thus altering the diner's perception of what food can be. This proposal for a nine-story atelier for the culinary arts aims to integrate the entire journey our food makes, from farming to cooking and eating, into one facility. Located in downtown Seattle, a few blocks from the historic Pike Place Market, the project looks at the inherent abilities of designers and architecture to craft a pedagogical experience. As the user inhabits a space they are exposed to different views of the cycle of a meal, from seed to table.
