The insertion is a performance space on top of fine arts Building B at the University of Florida. It provides a stage to the fine arts complex, as well as a leisure area for students to study and socialize. The generative pattern is a ripple expanding from a central node, the stage. It breaks from the orthogonal grid to create a new scheme of systemic arrangement for the seating of the performance space. The staircase to the roof uses the pattern to create a surface of view tubes inlaid with concave glass pieces. These view tubes let the occupant view their surroundings from a telescopic perspective as they process up to the roof.
