The concept of the library is to create a place for people to interact in the city. Through the liberation of the footprint of the site, an urban plaza is formed that visually connects the elements of the context: the street, the park, and the courthouse. The plaza is accessible from both the street and the existing courtyard space behind the library. It contains a place to be- covered benches, a place to perform- stage, and a place to wander- water labyrinth. The interior spaces of the library are organized in relation to this exterior plaza, to allow for views into the space.
