My first year MArch project brief was to create a dance studio/workshops on a very challenging site located at Trenchard Street, where a small car park currently sits. The concept for my project was looking at the strong links between architecture and fashion, focusing in particular on the use of weaving, shown through the facade and the floor plans of the final design. Due to the enclosed nature of the site and the height of the building I situated the main theatre on the top floor. This granted the option of incredible views out over Bristol city, where the dancers can tell a story in direct connection to the setting, however also with the option to enclose the theatre in darkness if needed.
