Site: The building site was located on Treasure Island near San Francisco, CA
Project Description: Design a building that reflected the pre existing San Francisco atmosphere with gears shifted toward music and culture
Project Details: Music and architecture have underlying founding characteristics that appear as a reoccuring theme within the two categories. Approximations are disallowed. Melodic harmonies and rhythm intertwine to create the final product. It is pivotal that both are regularly involved with intervals, symmetry and texture. Measure and repetitive patterns combine and represent what is musc and architecture. The closely related fields are bound by euphoric cultural and emotional entities that surround the design itself, whether is be a musical compilation or architecture. Rhythm is an articulated structure that enables a sense of order. Music is architecture and therefore architecture is music. The design is composed of asymmetrical polygonal shapes that link and interlock to form groups of various functions. There is an interplay between indoor and outdoor spaces through a gridded solid vs. void pattern. Simplicity, modularity, and organization are primary themes that reoccur throughout the building. The final product is achieved through phases, and the architecture translates music.
