About

Katherine Brice is a multidisciplinary designer, currently residing in Brooklyn, NY.  She received her Masters of Architecture from  RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia graduating in December 2012 with her final semester  undertaken on exchange at Parsons School of Design.

She is a designer who likes to push the boundaries of materials, and have explored this across many scales and mediums. She has personally designed and made jewelry, sculptures, lighting, teapots, furniture and building designs. She undertook an internship for the New York-based artist Sarah Oppenheimer. Through this experience she gained a  unique understanding about the interactions of light in space and the subtle details that can completely alter ones spacial experience.

Since graduating Katherine's focus has shifted to smaller scales of design. Working in  art fabrication  and design and build firms. her most recent project of significance was as architectural designer for Rachel Feinsteins sculptures "Folly" for Madison Square Park Summer 2014.

She is a passionate person who is rigorous and precise with her work, and always execute any task with enthusiasm.

Sarah Oppenhemer, New York, NY, US, Intern

From March to May this year I completed a three-month internship for the New York-based artist Sarah Oppenheimer. Oppenheimer’s work spans the disciplinary boundaries between sculpture and architecture. Her sculptural interventions disrupt the architecture of the exhibition space by physically displacing the conventions of the built environment. While working with her I was mainly in charge of physical model-making, in which I tested her design iterations. In this process I gained a unique understanding about the interactions of light in space and the subtle changes in form that can completely alter ones experience of space.
