I have performed a number of roles in my career including; Project Architect, Design Coordinator, and Project Manager .  I believe my teamwork skills and leadership abilities have been well developed and demonstrated in many diverse situations. 

My experience covers a wide range of building types including Sports & Entertainment venues, Hospitality, Retail, Food Service, Higher Education, and Commercial. Most of the last 15 years has been devoted to  Sports facilities for professional and collegiate sporting events, and includes both renovation and new construction. The last 3 years has been focused on large scale retail and commercial projects.

Employment 

HKS, Inc, San Diego, CA, US, Project Architect - Senior Contract Administrator

Managed the document development, and oversaw construction for large retail shopping center expansion. Organized and managed client design meetings and consultant work sessions to establish programmatic requirements, obtain design approvals, and develop the systems needed to support the design.

After document production, I followed the project into construction, managing a team of contract administrators on site. I coordinate the work of the design team in carrying out the owner's requirements on the base building, as well as coordination of the Tenant Development modifications resulting from the leasing process.

Responsible for management of overall project development for Convention Center and Professional Sporting venues throughout the United States and overseas, from Concept Design through Construction Document Preparation. Overseeing the work of Project Architects, Production Staff, Consultants, and Specification Writers in the preparation of Construction Documents.

Additional duties included, but were not limited to: responding to Requests for Qualifications/Requests for Proposals, Contract development and negotiations, close monitoring of project staffing, and budgets, and working with accounting personnel to manage project billings, payments, and receivables.

Principal in a start-up architectural firm focusing on Sports and Entertainment venues, with an emphasis on collegiate and community oriented facilities. I manage the overall project development, with particular focus on the preparation of construction documents.

I also oversaw interior design on each of our projects, and managed the selection and specification of finishes on our projects.

I coordinated the work of Specification Writers and Design Team Consultants to ensure that the design intent is met within the bounds of the approved design and budget.

During the construction phase, I perform Contract Administration to ensure that the intent of the construction documents is carried out in a manner that meets or exceeds the client’s requirements.

Managed the overall project development for professional and collegiate sporting venues throughout the United States, from Concept Design through Construction Contract Administration. Organized and managed client design meetings and consultant work sessions to establish programmatic requirements, obtain design approvals, and develop the systems needed to support the design.

I also interacted with design and visualization staff on the creation of 3D imagery and CGI animations, as well as hand drawn presentation materials used to illustrate design concepts and obtain client and user group input/approvals.

I coordinated the design work of the design team (Architects and Interior Designers) in carrying out the owner's requirements as the project developed. Advocating for the design team to insure the integrity of the design concept was maintained throughout the course of project development.

During the Construction Document Phase, I managed the work of Project Architects and Production Staff in executing the documentation from design development through construction contract administration. I coordinated the work of Specification Writers and Design Team Consultants to ensure that the design intent was met within the bounds of the approved design and established project budget.

During the construction phase, I worked closely with the Contract Administrator and General Contractor/Construction Manager to ensure that the intent of the construction documents was carried out in a manner that met or exceeded the client’s requirements while remaining within the project budget.

- Food Service development and coordination
- Interior Design development and coordination
- Graphic design and coordination including Branding and Wayfinding.
- FF&E orchestration including direct involvement in the procurement process.
