About 

Gabriel Smith AIA, LEED AP

Gabriel Smith is a Principal at Allied Works in New York City where he leads national and international projects in the public realm for arts, education, commercial and government clients. His works have earned twenty American Institute of Architects Design Awards and he was elected to the AIA College of Fellows for his contributions as a designer. He holds degrees in architecture from Harvard and Tulane and is a LEED AP with experience on net zero carbon and LEED Platinum projects. He has served as adjunct professor, visiting critic or lecturer at Columbia, Parsons, Harvard, Syracuse, and Cornell. 

Gabriel started his professional career in London at Norman Foster’s office and later moved to Eskew+Dumez+Ripple Architects in New Orleans, where he served as Project Architect on cultural projects for a decade. While at EDR, Gabriel also designed furniture and taught design at Tulane University. Most recently, at Thomas Phifer and Partners, he served as project Director on the Glenstone Museum, the Museum of Modern Art Warsaw, Corning Museum of Glass, the North Carolina Museum of Art and a tower in Bogota Colombia.
