About

As a recent graduate of the Art Institute of Atlanta with a Bachelors Degree of Fine Arts in Interior Design, I look forward to working in the design industry, for its wide variety of options, problem solving, and solutions. I am looking forward to incorporating my design skills at a firm; particularly space planning, detailing, FF&E selections, branding, and presentation graphics.
Over the past four years, I have become highly proficient in AutoCAD Architecture, 3-D Studio Max, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Microsoft Office.  Through my internship at Masterpiece Rugs (3/09 to 7/09), I was able to gain valuable information into the administrative aspect of trade sales.  At Stone Age Design (7/09 to 9/09), I cataloged and organized drawings as well as completed field verification of drawings.
My goal is to work as an Assistant Designer while acquiring the requirements to obtain my NCIDQ and at the same time working at an Interior Design firm.  I also plan on obtaining my LEED accreditation and acquire Revit experience.  With time and experience, I hope to become a project manager.
My work experience comprises of 10+ years of working at Publix.  I worked up the ranks from bagger to customer service staff.  I've learned valuable experience in accounting, team work, collaboration, problem solving, supervising customer service employees and reconciling customer complaints.  Since July of 2010, I had the pleasure of working in the Art Institute of Atlanta’s Interior Design Department as a Student Assistant tutoring in Autodesk, AutoCAD Architecture, and 3-D Studio Max, as well as Illustrator and Photoshop.  I am known for my reliability, punctuality and giving generously of my time.   My academic adviser/employer wrote, “The faculty often relied upon him to help the students keep up and complete their projects on time.” (See Linked In recommendation)
The professional organizations I belong to include ASID and IIDA, and USGBC-GA.  As a student, I was the Secretary/Treasurer as well as the Student Advisor for the IIDA Student Chapter.  I also volunteered in numerous activities including: IIDA's Georgia Chapter Event: Trash 2 Treasure, Dressed, IIDA Georgia Chapter Office in ADAC,  Park Prides Community Garden, as well fundraising for Junior Achievement through Publix. I currently volunteer on two committees (RAGS) IIDA Red and Green Scene Outreach Project and USGBC-GA (EGP) Emerging Green Professionals.
