• Collaborate with a team of four technicians to ensure the operation of a 5,000-square-foot fabrication space for over 300 students in various School of Design programs.
• Perform maintenance and oversee over 30 heavy machinery and a variety of hand tools to ensure proper setup and function with a heavy emphasis on safe operation standards for all students and faculties.
• Instruct introductory courses for shop safety and orientation for all incoming students, create and administer tests, and provide certification for passing grades to qualify usage and production within the fabrication spaces.
• Implement safety guidelines such as proper attire, machine operation techniques, OSHA & ESP air quality guidelines for indoor spray booths, and VOC/chemical restrictions.
• Partner with other technicians, faculties, and all stakeholders to provide instruction and technical support, including required workshops and class demonstrations.
• Hire, train, and supervise student employees to support day-to-day operations of the Shop, including usage, tool library support, peer instructions, and various projects as needed.

• Participate in continuing DD and CD for the main corridor and stair connection from Long Island Rail Road to the Mezzanine level to Subway Station for QA/QC.

• Conduct site visits and surveys to make accurate changes and improvements in the DD drawing set.
• Continue developing transit-related designs, including ADA compliance; the project’s scope encompasses obtaining approvals from various MTA agencies, coordinating with city code enforcement for fire and life safety measures, and collaborating with stakeholders to achieve seamless integration among the new tower, Grand Central Terminal, the 42nd Street subway station, and the Grand Hyatt New York Hotel.
