My name is Mia Lalor Bengolea. I am a 27 year old Argentinian architect. I was born in Florida, USA My childhood was half in Argentina, at my parents farm outside Buenos Aires, and half in USA, mostly Palm beach and Greenwich.  

When I was 12 years old I went to a boarding School in Buenos Aires, St. George's College in Quilmes. I had the opportunity of making friends from all over Argentina and the world, which gave me perspective and a very deep sense of diversity. This school also gave me a very fluent spoken and written English. Once I finished school I decided to study Architecture in the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) from which I graduated in February 2018.

In my last position at Escalante Vela Arquitectos, I managed the design area and was in charge of the relationship with clients. I also coordinated various work streams under demanding deadlines.

Also I had the opportunity to work as a freelancer, I've designed Prieto's family new Home. I focused on bringing nature and natural light into the house without losing privacy. This is why we chose to open big doorways towards the garden, to bring the inside and the outside closer together. My aim with this project was to make the most of the plot of land, with its north-west oriented garden with beautiful trees on a very mellow street.

Through these and other working experiences detailed in my resume (most of them Architecture studios in Argentina) I consider myself experienced with building materials and systems, capable of designing layouts and analyzing different flexible options for interior and exterior spaces.  

I consider myself a very cheerful and humble person, hardworking and responsible. I have extensive experience with a broad range of design and management software including AutoCAD, Photoshop, Revit, Sketchup, Archicad. I always prefer drawing by hand during the first steps of a project or an idea.My hobbies are Yoga, Pottery and Photography.

When faced with a new project, listening is the first thing I do. Not any kind of listening, I’m truly open and present, so I can hold space for my client and come closer to his imagination. I want to know the who and the how behind the space. I also believe in team work and communication.
