Silvia Ruiz-Poveda Lomba is a Spanish architect and artist. She graduated from  Superior Technical School of Architecture of Madrid (ETSAM). Due to her interest in arts and cinema, she combined her studies at Central St. Martins College of Art and Design in London in Art Direction, Film Production at UCLA and Architecture at Seoul National University.

Approaching projects with an adaptative awareness of the context, the scale, the functionality and the light is her main concern. As architecture has the chance to make things better for future's people, is also able to expand concepts of the senses and the perception of our world through a delicate approach of the program, materials and how they work with time. Looking forward the future which is coming, the architecture needs to be meditated to be projected as the future that is still growing and coexisting in a wide range and increased variability. This co-existence generates new oportunities of growth, generaly in a free system for the way of living.

Silvia ended her Master in Architecture creating a sophisticated project for a new typology of Piers in Huntington Beach, California. Extremely concerned about sustainability concepts and natural energy resources that the project could be capable of. She proposed a new structure that will permit to expand the program of the Pier, compact to the site over the ocean to receive the minimum impact. The idea of re-used the sources which is exposed for a multiple public uses, worthy to become a Surf Museum, an Aquarium, surf and skate schools, a beach-house restaurant and a greenhouse all along the Pier. While maintaining the permeability and fluidity the original concept of a Pier has, it becomes a more economical and green architecture for the city of Huntington Beach.

She is an experienced BIM Architect with a demonstrated history of working in the architecture & planning industry in Spain and United States. The strong Arts and Design skills she has, makes her a professional architectural designer focused in Sustainable Architecture Design in large and small scale buildings and different typologies.

She was born in Zaragoza and then she moved to Madrid to study Architecture at the Superior Technical School of Architecture of Madrid, ETSAM and Seoul National University, SNU. She has lived between Paris, Seoul, London, Los Angeles, San Sebastián and Biarritz, giving her an adaptable and flexible attitude that her Architecture approach shows. She collaborates with different Architecture studios accomplishing competitions, such as M-RAD in Los Angeles, for LAGI 2019 Competition in Masdar City, proposing an alternative solution for a sustainable architecture.

Her love for the arts, architecture, cinema and surf brought her to Los Angeles, where she has worked in a wide different project typologies such as a Football Stadium, Tennis courts, restaurants and bars, affordable multifamily housing, hotel and spa, music venues and renovation housings in LA, San Bernardino, Cincinnatti, Yoshua Tree Dessert and Seattle.

As she is very interested in work with music and scenography, eventually collaborates with artists to design their music album and film directors in set design, sound, photography direction and editing, due her studies in Film Production and Art in Film in UCLA and Central Saint Martin in London.
