About 

Li Ren is a highly regarded Architect and Associate at Perkins Eastman in Dubai, where he specializes in the design of hospitality, senior living, and master plans. His approach to design is sustainable and inclusive, seeking to involve the community in the design process in order to enhance both the quality of the design and social engagement.

Li is passionate about community-focused design and urban renewal, and his research and practice are centered around these themes, with a particular focus on the areas of technology, sustainability, and culture. He has been recognized for his contributions to the field, including the AIA|DC Emerging Architect Award in 2021 and BD+C’s 40 Under 40 Awards in 2022.

Previously serving as Affiliated Faculty at the Virginia Tech Washington-Alexanderia Architecture Center (WAAC), Li is a thought leader in the architecture industry, having published several articles and given presentations on topics such as urban renewal, professional architect education, and licensure. He is an active member of both the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the National Council of Architect Registration Board (NCARB), and in 2018 he founded the Asian American Designers Union (AADU). Li has also served as a member of the AIA|DC 2020-2022 board and is a member of the ARE 5.0 Item Development Committee and Examination Committee.
