New York, NY
This NYC landmark building is part of the Upper East Side Historic District in Manhattan. The building was once a single-family mansion built in 1895 and in 1905 hosted the wedding of Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt in the grand drawing room. In 1920, the building was sold and converted to individual apartments which is how is still stands today. This gut-renovation consisted of combining two of those apartments, one of which had not been touched since the 1950's as evidenced by the wallpaper. The existing kitchen was removed and replaced with a sumptuous marble bathroom and the existing bathroom was converted into a powder room.
