A one-story, 6,000 square foot "green" Woodshop built for Hoover High School in San Diego under a San Diego Unified School District contract. The building is the first LEED certified Woodshop built in the country and achieved LEED Silver Certification as well as a CMAA Project Achievement Award. The building consisted of a metal stud and masonry complex which contained various accessory spaces including a classroom, storage, and spray booth. Due to the hazardous H occupancy determined upon the structure from the District of State Architect (DSA), the building was required to utilize a mechanical system capable of removing any sawdust particulates in the air at all times.
