Located in a small village (Rocas do Vouga) near the city Aveiro, and surrounded by pine trees, in a typical landscape of the area. The project is ordered by the City Council. The school will serve the children from the first till the fourth grade. Starting from a simple cube, we start to shape the form. The original concept is based on the progressive educational evolution of the students. For that we create ramps, which represents that evolution. Starting on the first ramp we have the first grade classroom, and until the fourth grade classroom we go up by ramps. Each ramp represents a different grade. The courtyard in the middle of the cube represents the bond of the different classes.
We use the color white to paint the cube as a camouflage to all the green area, but also to "brighten" that shadowed zone.
