The AIA Los Angeles chapter has announced the winners of their 2023 Residential Architecture Award. Twenty projects were recognized for the annual series ranging from affordable and supportive housing to single-family and multi-family housing.
In addition to the twenty honored projects, two additional projects received the Climate Positive Award sponsored by Southern California Edison. Both AIA|LA members and non-members were eligible to submit residential projects, with typologies including ADUs, Affordable Housing, and Temporary Shelter; Adaptive Reuse; and Multi-Family and Single-Family Homes.
“It was interesting to note that many winning projects incorporate criteria from other typologies, demonstrating common needs in today’s residential spaces, particularly multi-family housing,” the organizers commented on the winning projects. “The integration of nature also features prominently among many of the award-winning projects.”
