Head over to the Museum of Modern Art to see all the finalist proposals of the 2018 Young Architects Program. The yearly YAP competition challenges emerging architects to design an innovative, temporary outdoor installation that provides shade, seating, and water, and takes sustainability and environmental impact into account.
Now open until September 3, the YAP exhibition includes models and images of the winning proposal, “Hide and Seek”, by Minneapolis-based Dream the Combine as well as the four other finalist proposals by LeCavalier R+D (Jesse LeCavalier), FreelandBuck (David Freeland and Brennan Buck), BairBalliet (Kelly Bair and Kristy Balliet), and OFICINAA (Silvia Benedito and Alexander Häusler). The exhibition will travel to MAXXI — the Museo nazionale delle arti del XXI secolo in Rome, and CONSTRUCTO in Santiago.
“Hide and Seek” will be realized in MoMA PS1's courtyard in Queens starting June 28, in time for the museum's summer events.
