USC Architecture faculty Mina Chow will screen her feature documentary FACE OF A NATION: “What Happened to the World’s Fair?”...the film explores the U.S.’s declining participation in World’s Fairs over the last 25 years and questions the country’s role in the world and perceptions of America’s image.
2°C: A COTE AIA|LA Symposium on Climate Change | March 2
The 2°C Symposium is a unifying platform for the public, the architectural design community and the building industry to discuss and address the sustainability issues challenging our society today.
Mark Foster Gage: Geothermal Futures Lab | Open now until March 4
The laboratory researches the use of laser ablation geothermal resonance technologies that are capable of generating up to nineteen times more power than existing geothermal energy extraction techniques. Visitors can observe this prototype laser extraction process live as it showcases a method through which it will be possible to increase California’s reliance on sustainable geothermal sources of power from its existing state of 6 percent today to 68 percent by 2022.
