Friday night lates at Dulwich Picture Gallery | 21 July

This week's Friday night Late at IF_DO's pavilion pavilion at Dulwich Picture House is all about wanderlust. Inspired by works by Sargent, currently on display, there will be immersive drawing rooms, roaming story-tellers, and plenty of travel-provoking wonders to bring out the travel-bug in all. 

Young Creatives: Summer School | 24 July

Set-design is one of the more enviable branches of alternative architectural paths, and on this three-day youth workshop, students will be able to work at 1:1 scale, whilst learning their craft. Blending spatial creative design and potential narratives, this is a wonderful way to show not only the creativity 'behind-the-scenes' but to show the alternative applications of spatial and architectural thought. 

Andrew Whalley, Grimshaw studio X-ray talk | 19 July

This week, there is a breakfast talk from Grimshaw's Andrew Whalley and journalist Pamela Buxton, which explores 'instuction-based art' within the architectural world. Reflecting on the practice's submission in the RA Summer Show,  this talk (and indeed their contribution) focuses on showing the 'backstage' areas of architecture through x-ray visualisation. 

Grayson Perry: The Most Popular Art Exhibition Ever! | Open now until September

Grayson Perry is credited with being "one of the most astute commentators on contemporary society and culture", and this exhibition intends to prove this. Many may remember the documentary from last year (Grayson Perry: Divided Britain, Channel 4) which used ideas contributed via social media to create a piece which commented on the Brexit results. This piece, along with many others, forms part of this multi-media showcase. 

V&A Museum of Childhood’s Summer Festival | 23rd July

This weekend, the V&A Museum of Childhood hold their annual Summer Festival. This day of festivity and showcase is an opportunity to get adults and children alike involved in the museum's work. From dance and music performances to face paints and food, this has enough to keep even the most inquisitive roaming mind occupied, and to interactively learn about the history of design and childhood.
