Beijing has the worst smog levels among the world's capital cities - so bad that playing sports outdoor is often banned - but it could get a stunning new set of lungs in the form of a covered botanical garden, retail and office complex under a giant transparent roof.
Called Bubbles, the architectural concept might seem an unlikely candidate for a high-rise city of 21 million people. But its designers believe it offers something that every urban environment needs.

Another Chinese bubble to burst?

Seems legit.
I want some of what they're smoking.
why don't they just lock themselves inside their homes?
anyways, don't think this will work.. Chinese are notorious chain smokers. It would be worse trying to trap all that smoke in.
Beyond the obvious absurdity, here are a few grievances I have:
1. The renderings have a clear blue sky.
2. Putting solar panels on it doesn’t make it eco-friendly. Especially if the sunlight can’t even break through the pollution.
3. Why even mention climate change? This will have no impact on mitigating climate change. If anything this will act as a huge greenhouse.
4. What would you do with all the stormwater runoff?
This is architecture at its worst.
hmmm....
where have I seen this before....
doesn't anyone else see the great potential for a third Biodome film?
Since its china they can keep Paulie Shore and replace Alec Baldwin with Jackie Chan...
