A 120 metres tall looping tower structure proposed for London is designed by Anish Kapoor and Cecil Balmond. It will officially be called the ArcelorMittal Orbit, after steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal, the richest man in Europe, who is funding it. In a most curious statement, Mayor of London Boris Johnson said that if he and Mittal had not bumped into each other in a Davos cloakroom - read bathroom - "we would not be where we are today".

Looks like a shitty Six Flags rollercoaster. Yuck. (And I am a person who likes Kapoor's work a lot)
Kapoor's work is ugly and is an example of how the elites are using modern art to destroy histroical interpretations of beauty.
that's a very difficult pill to swallow ! But it will sit brilliantly next to the stadium (other difficult pill), may be after a while one just get use to the pain?
folly!
uber-folly!
I like it. Is it a Klein Bottle?

What? So you'd then say that all of the avant-garde architecture does the same? Really, who cares what the historical interpretations of beauty are, as long as we move ahead with newer interpretations?
structural genius - aesthetic disaster
@simples - its 'folly' on steroids
Ha-ha it's ugly shitty Six Flags rollercoaster... Wait, I have a chance to demonstrate the analytical skills I spent years developing in architecture school? PASS!!
Alright well honestly this looks pretty exciting, although it's hard to make a judgment based on the helicopter shot posted above. I'd imagine it will produce some remarkable effects from ground level, much like Kapoor's other work.
Point is old doctor, we are pumping millions to idiot artists who fill our cities with monstrosities that serve as a symbol of a society in turmoil.
Ah, India gave England a Statue of Liberty.
kaczocht wins!
kaczocht, seeing it like that.
