Premier Dennis Napthine announced HASSEL + Herzog & de Meuron as the winners of the state government's competition for the redesign of the iconic station, but the plan for the redevelopment itself has been met with a degree of skepticism from some. On top of the $1.6m spent on the competition, Napthine estimates that the realisation of the plans would cost $1 to $1.5b and would take over a decade to be built. The state government has not yet committed to its completion. — au.artshub.com

The end of starchitecture?
One can only hope.
Looks like a fantastic design to me. Pity if it isn't built.
hi miles. how are you? did you have a nice week? I really hope you did. can you please elaborate on how this standard bit of Herzog d M is the end of, ahem, starchitecture? im, like, so confused.
I cant hang out cuz, like, I have to practice my autoerotic asphyxiation.
ciao!
How is this starchitecture? It looks illogical for its function, feels like a fashion statement, and looks like it could be built in any part of the world, regardless of site, culture, or geography.
Looks kinda overwhelming to me. But this kind of starchitecture Isn't yet as bad (I mean, it gets really worse, and you know that).
