That’s a nice photo of Paris, isn’t it? Nope! That’s not Paris and no, it’s not Disney World or even the Las Vegas Strip; it’s a replica Paris in China. What makes this clone of Paris even more weird is that it’s a ghost town. Only about 2,000 people live there, which means that those giant skyscrapers, with 700+ units tend to only have around 30 people living in each of them. This city has become a place to take wedding photos for Chinese citizens who can’t afford to travel to the real Paris... — mydesignstories.com

SURPRISE!
I suppose what is wonderful and terrifying about this is that clearly no one, anywhere, knows what they're doing.
I don't understand...
hey phebe -
if I ever get out of this well, would you like to go get a soda?
Reminds me of the time I worked on crafting BIM models of "Business Clubhouses" for a project in Tianjin. These "clubhouses" happened to have 4-5 bedrooms, 2 kitchens, and several kids' rooms and naturally some private screening rooms and card playing rooms. And to top it all off, each of the clubhouses were to copy traditionally French provincial architecture. Near these 7000-14000 sq-ft clubhouses was a parcel that was planned to be a mixed-use commercial dristrict that would also sport traditional French architecture. The only thing I enjoyed about the project was figuring out how to implement classic architectural details in BIM. The ethical dilemmas were such that I was relieved when the client decided to hand the project to another firm.
"ethical dilemmas" - Were you engaged in morally suspect behavior while you BIMmed?
