ugh, where is this giant generic 80's building exactly? east of west side of the runway? Why no site plan and how it relates to the adjacent neighborhoods? looks like it might potentially block off all natural light to any adjacent housing....which is the whole point why anyone would want to live near Templehof...
It's pretty obvious that this is located south of the runways, along the s-bahn and a100 corridor. No existing houses would be affected by such a structure (the nearest residential areas to the proposed location are hundreds of meters away).
Also, I don't understand your last comment. I live very near to the Tempelhof and my decision has nothing to do with natural light.
I'll check out the presentation of the winners before judging further. As it is, these few renders don't really show much of anything.
No it is not obvious where that located at all, ok so now it will block off the views of the field when riding the S-bahn? What is nice about Templehof is that it is so open. Weird how there is no site plan and how it relates to the surroundings.
I live near Templehof at the end of a runway, as a result there is always nice natural light penetrating into the street during sunset.
Anyways it looks super generic, so now we will have a generic building blocking off views (when riding the s-bahn) of a dramatic historically fused building. The best way to view the airport will be blocked off by boringness.
So this was a competition to enter the competition which in turn allows to pitch eventually. The people working in the Senate Department for Urban Development obviously need to keep themselves busy. ^
Sorry architect if my last post come across as snarky. That wasn't my intention, so apologies.
But, render two is clearly the a100 before Tempelhofer Dam, looking west.
