Another casualty:
Hawthorne Plaza, Hawthorne CA - probably meant to buoy a very tenuous municipality, home of the Beach Boys, which goes from beachy in the west to multicultural in the east, as it abuts other municipalities. Also, probably too close to other competing malls in the area's South Bay and West Side for it to take off. Had the usual heavy-hitter anchors for that region, but they did not thrive. Pictures of Hawthorne Plaza in its state of disrepair, from both the exterior and interior, are depressing.
