hmmm...mathematical abstraction of nature... where have I seen that before?
except in this case, it's a 2D visual barrier meant to be viewed either from the highway or spinning around in some slick 3D presentation - or camouflage - like it's trying to hide it's real agenda...
instead of attempting to recreate the humbling effect of walking through an old-growth forest.

Although the facade is superficial, I feel it will succeed in attracting "qualitative and quantitative tourist flows in the area," which is the goal of the cultural center. It would be nice to see the inspiration from nature further integrated into the interior design of the building, similar to Rem Koolhaas's Kunsthal museum in Rotterdam. He mimicked the surrounding park by introducing tree trunks as structural columns.

no, tree wise, i can accept the frivulous tschumi facade but i cannot accept this other dead judeochristianity; its morbid, like that german artist-anatomist von hagens...no, this post mortem post protestantism is not something palleatable. no softness; only harsh lessons of abstraction to teach us more heretic lot the meaninglessness of a tree. always this harshness.
