A judge Thursday gave at least a temporary reprieve to old Prentice Women's Hospital by stopping the city from issuing a demolition permit to Northwestern University until it can be determined whether the process by which the building was denied landmark status was properly carried out.
Circuit Judge Neil Cohen said the public's interest would be harmed if the building came down before the merits of a lawsuit filed by preservationists were considered.

Also on Thursday: the Chicago Architecture Foundation announced the winners of the 2012 Chicago Prize competition, which explored opportunities for the adaptive re-use of Prentice. Worth checking out!
Don't have access to the winning schemes yet. But I bet they should related to the function which could bring in what that neighborhood need, like indoor playground.
will wait...
I'm confused... the winning schemes are at the link I posted. You can even see/download the renderings in high-res.
One of them (3rd place) did in fact create a giant landscape, although it's outdoor.
The schemes are quite interesting!
