Ukrainian firm MAKHNO Studio has designed a contemporary hotel in the breathtaking natural setting of the Carpathian Mountains.
With the KARPATY Hotel, the architects aimed to seamlessly integrate the approximately 43,056-square-foot structure into the environment, while also forming a striking spectacle.
The firm likens the hotel to a liner in the sky. The connection with the surroundings is reflected through the building’s organic form and muted color palette.
In the heart of the hotel’s courtyard is an expansive suspended pool, surrounded by a border of luminous stones.
Each room in the hotel offers unique views through carefully crafted panoramic windows.
A colossal hall dominates the space, adding an element of grandeur to the overall design. The interior is crowned by a sleek, sinuous staircase that was designed by studying the intricacies of mountain contours.
The foyer walls feature 3D decor, which adds depth and dimension to the space. They were crafted through the use of QUADROPOD, a signature 3D tile produced by MAKHNO Studio.
